JTP present at Ecobuild 'Sustainability and the City' seminar
20/03/2012

Partners Fred London and Rebecca Taylor presented the incorporation of bioclimatic design principles within JTP's Suzhou Eco-district project at Ecobuild on the 20th of March.

This presentation was undertaken as one of the 'How green is my city: global trends and international exemplars' discussed over four sessions as part of the Ecobuild 'Sustainability and the City' seminars.

These sessions considered international city examples which are pioneering sustainable city development. With a particular focus on India and China, they looked at global trends in greening cities and sought to identify the main characteristics of an eco-city.

The overall aim of the Suzhou Eco-district project was to create a balanced eco-system which would encourage long-term, sustainable, human habitation in harmony with the physical environment.

The Suzhou Eco-district project was recently shortlisted for the Urban Design Group: Project Awards 2011/2012 and received an Honourable Mention at the Green Dot Awards 2011 within Concept Category.
