The Hamptons has won Best New Large Development at this year's Evening Standard New Homes Awards.
The development for St James' Homes has transformed the former sewage treatment works in Worcester Park, south-west London, into a new neighbourhood.
The Hamptons is a phased development of 645 mixed-tenure homes designed around a 12 ha park. Five character areas take cues from New England, UK and Scandinavian timber boarded architecture to create a rural character within 20 minutes of central London. A nature reserve, ecological wetland habitats, recreational paths and spaces are incorporated into the scheme.
