JTP's Reserved Matters Application for a distinct new neighbourhood at King's Park, King Harry Lane, St Albans has been approved by St Albans District Council.
Following Outline Planning Approval in 2010, JTP was commissioned to work with the local community to develop the detailed designs for the residential part of the site.
The scheme is set within four character areas designed to create a sense of neighbourhood and community ownership. 150 homes comprise detached, semi-detached, terraced housing, and two centrally located apartment buildings.
Existing trees and an archaeological ditch dating back to the Iron Age will be utilised through an extensive landscaping strategy making use of SUDS and swales to promote biodiversity and openness for residents. Footpaths and cycleways will link to surrounding residential areas to reduce car dependency.
