Hangzhou Future City Competition

JTP has won first place the urban design competition for Hangzhou’s Future Sci-Tech City. This video features JTP’s winning design which reflects the traditional watertown typology found across Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province in Eastern China, located 180 km to the southwest of Shanghai.



Fulham Reach, London

With its riverside walk already open to the public, in this video, JTP’s chairman, John Thompson, explains how Fulham Reach will soon offer London a new destination along the north bank of the River Thames.

New Zhukovsky, Moscow

The JTP led design team worked closely with the National Centre for Aviation client and local consultants through a week long Charrette to produce a Vision and Illustrative masterplan for New Zhukovsky, a large new town on the banks of the Moscow River to the south east of Moscow.

Pingshan Central District Shenzhen, China

This award winning competition entry for a new eco-district has the principles of bioclimatic design and sustainable urbanism at its core.  This video shows how the layout of the district has been shaped by the environment to create a truly responsive low carbon settlement.


Hornsbruksgatan Community Planning Weekend

Shenzen Xiasha

JTP, in collaboration with Alan Dunlop Architects and Gillespies, was awarded third place in an international design competition for a large seaside resort on the Dapeng Peninsula of Shenzhen. This video showcases JTP’s competition entry for the 150 hectare site, which the local authority looks to transform into an international tourist destination.



Moscow Expansion Winning Team

John Thompson & Partners is delighted to announce that it has been named one of the winners of the Moscow Expansion design concept competition as part of the Capital Cities Planning Group team.

Suzhou Eco-Town, China

Designed as an integrated eco-system, the Suzhou Eco-Town masterplan was informed by the concept of agro-urbanism and combines Chinese principles with bio-climatic strategies. This video describes the innovative bio-climatic design and collaborative process that formed the first phase of this low carbon settlement.
